Central Milk Management

Using LacTrack Manager, the milk bank finally has real-time, electronic visibility into the location and status of milk units as well as the complete feed history of infants. This provides the Milk Bank with confidence that every milk vial has been transported, stored, prepared and that each milk unit has been fed to the correct infant in a timely fashion.

Information is extremely valuable and LacTrack Manager is the ultimate milk management reporting tool. Each event recorded in the audit includes the following information:

• The type of event (collect, move in, order, prepare, feed, etc)
• The location of the event
• The device that was used (kiosk, PDA or desktop)
• The caregiver
• The milk unit
• The date and time
• The error generated by the event (storage location error, patient mismatch, expired milk unit, etc)

Custom reports can then be created, including real-time refrigerator inventory, upcoming milk unit expiry, and the fate of milk units. This data allows administrators to analyse outcomes and provide more efficient service. When errors are detected during movement, preparation, or feeding of milk vials, the Milk Bank is instantly alerted via both visual and audible means. This enables staff to investigate and resolve any potential problems at the earliest opportunity in order to minimize potential consequences. The system also maintains a detailed audit trail of the Milk Bank staff member that viewed each error and the action that was taken to correct the problem. LacTrack Manager extends the reach of the milk bank into the hospital by providing complete control over refrigerator and handheld configuration, user access, and milk unit status all from one application.
