Neoteric has developed a Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) system for safe blood
transfusion at the bedside.
Using RFID tags in caregiver ID badges, patient wristbands, and blood unit labels, users
are now able to verify "right blood - right patient" by simply moving the handheld PDA
within range. BloodTrack Tx RFID incorporates all the functionality of our world leading
BloodTrack Tx product plus:
- Ability to identify caregivers even when wearing protective gowns (i.e. in OR, isolation)
- Ability to identify patients without distrubing them to view their wristbands
- Reduction in training time because easier than scanning barcodes
- Uses reprogrammable tags
- Uses inexpensive Symbol MC-50 handheld PDA with mini RFID plug-in module
- Compatible with ISBT and codabar
