BloodTrack® OnDemand Brochure (pdf)     Demo Video (wmv)
Blood Management Beyond the Blood Bank

The BloodTrack OnDemand receives information from the blood bank regarding a patient's eligibility, blood group and reservation period then allows blood to be quickly and safely.
Removing Unallocated Blood from BloodTrack OnDemand
  1. Identify the user - Every user of BloodTrack OnDemand will have an identification code; usually a barcode attached to their identification badge. Simply put the badge under the scanner to log in.
  2. Choose In or Out - To remove units from the refrigerator, touch "OUT".
  3. Scan Patient Information - To identify the correct unit to dispense, the user must scan a Tx Pickup Slip (or barcoded request form) containing a specific patient's information (the patient can also be selected from a list). OnDemand then communicates with the blood bank to determine if any blood in the refrigerator has been cross-matched for the patient, if so, OnDemand will allow access to the blood. If no cross-matched blood is available, OnDemand will allow access to unallocated blood of the patient's blood group and print a compatibility label (transfusion tag).
  4. Confirm Blood Unit - The user will then be asked to scan the blood unit and the compatibility label to ensure they have put the right label on the right blood bag. If there's a problem, the blood bank will be notified automatically as well as there will be audible and visual instructions on the screen for the user to follow.
  5. Log Out - To log out, just touch "DONE" on the screen. BloodTrack OnDemand will log you out and wait for the next user.
BloodTrack OnDemand Configuration
BloodTrack OnDemand can operate in a number of different configurations. The most secure and effective is when it is interfaced to the Blood Establishment Computer System (BECS/LIS) and although not recommended, OnDemand can also be configured to operate without an interface.

As BloodTrack OnDemand is fully integrated into the entire suite of BloodTrack products, it is recommended that BloodTrack Tx be installed to print barcoded pick-up slips for secure blood removal and provide blood unit checking at the bedside. Additional products, such as BloodTrack Enquiry provide even further benefits.

The complete BloodTrack Suite is built using state-of-the-art development tools and technologies. It easily scales to work from the smallest hospital to the largest multiple site health care provider. The system includes a comprehensive series of reports, but each user can also directly connect to the Microsoft SQL Server database and develop their own custom reports and queries. In addition, BloodTrack exchanges information with the BECS/LIS in real time so that both systems have the most up-to-date information for each blood unit.
