Laboratory Sample Storage and Retrieval

The AutoFile system improves laboratory efficiency by:

• Speeding up retrieval of samples from storage
• Keeping a record of every removed sample and where it has gone
• Eliminating time wasted in looking for samples that have already been removed from storage
• Eliminating tedious and labour-intensive sorting of samples for storage

AutoFile permits flexible definition of storage racks. In fact, you can define your own racks, storage locations and sample identification system to reflect your current physical storage system. In essence, AutoFile is an electronic version of your storage system. All functions are accessed with a simple, intuitive graphical interface. Sample numbers are easily input with a barcode scanner. With the retrieval power of AutoFile, there is no need to sort the samples! Samples can be put in any rack, in any order. With a simple query, they can be found again using the sample numbers. Reports can be generated for expired racks and removed samples.
